New York has two verified open paintball parks we are happy to point you to: one in the Hudson Valley and one in the Capital Region.

LIBERTY PAINTBALL

Liberty Paintball is at 629 Route 311 in Patterson. The fields are themed, with tanks, planes, helicopters, trenches, a pirate ship, buses, fire trucks, covered wagons and even AT-AT style walkers to hide behind.

They run mag-fed paintball, airball and airsoft, take walk-ons, and host birthday, corporate and school groups. Special events include a Zombie Invasion and MagFed meetups. Waivers are done online. Call (845) 878-6300.

CAPITAL COMBAT ZONE

Capital Combat Zone sits on the Troy and Brunswick border at the corner of Oakwood Avenue and Farrell Road. The 15-plus acres hold two turfed NXL-style speedball fields and a city-and-woods hybrid field with buildings, natural cover and trails.

It is open Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 4pm all year, and private parties of 10 to 15 or more can book Monday through Friday. At our last look a rental package was $50 and included entry, marker, mask and 500 paintballs, and entry with your own gear was $20. There is a pro shop and snacks on site, waivers are required and only field paint is allowed. Call 518-279-6702.
